Ferroalloy composed of molybdenum and iron, generally containing 50 ~ 60% molybdenum
Henan ferromolybdenum is an alloy of molybdenum and iron. It is mainly used as an additive of molybdenum in steelmaking. Adding molybdenum into the steel can make the steel have uniform fine grain structure, improve the hardenability of the steel and eliminate the temper brittleness. Molybdenum can replace part of tungsten in high speed steel. Together with other alloy elements, molybdenum is widely used in the production of stainless steel, heat-resistant steel, acid resistant steel and tool steel, as well as alloys with special physical properties. Adding molybdenum to cast iron can increase its strength and wear resistance.
Ferromolybdenum in Henan Province is usually melted by metal heating method. Henan ferromolybdenum is a legally inspected commodity. The main producing areas are Jilin, Hebei, Jiangsu, Henan, Liaoning, etc. in China, which are mainly exported to the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, etc.
